The EZ Touch EPOS and Avermedia DVR Security System

(1) Sweethearting
Sweethearting is a method whereby a customer knows the bar person, they ask for 4 pints of larger, the bar person tends 4 pints but rings into the till 1 pint. The till is checked at the end of a shift and is found to be accurate, however the crime is not detected, because the wets are down!!

(2) Voiding
Voiding is where a customer makes a purchase and leaves the premises, the cashier then voids the sale and pockets the refund, again the till is balanced but the stock is down. This can be masked by stock strinkage.

(3) Bogus Refunds
Other techniques include doing a bogus refund where there is no customer. Again the till is correct but the stocks are down.

Our systems can monitor these kind of crimes by reading the data outputted from the till, several exception words can be entered, eg when the till reads, void, cancelled, refund, minus, etc etc. The AverMedia can do several things on an alarm word, ie puts into an index so the business owner can search through all the voids, cancelled etc, the AverMedia will then go to the correct playback time and make sure there was a void, etc.

(4) Underage Selling
When selling alchohol, you can prompt the seller to ask for ID, the AverMedia can detect this as an alarm and keep a record. Also, a camera looking at the customer in front of the till, they try to buy alchohol, a prompt appears on the screen asking the operator if id is appropriate, if the person is 50, then the operator will accept responsibility, if the age is in question they will ask for id, the AverMeda DVR is recording all of this including audio if required, the id would be taken from the customer and placed under a scanner, on pressing a swith the recorder will switch from recording the camera looking at the customer and record an image of the id supplied. This would exonarate any employee from selling to underage and therefore help reduce fines and loss of liciences
